Who should take these courses? All AHA (American Heart Association) Heartsaver courses are intended for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job such as childcare workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, coaches, etc. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

Saving the planet!! All course completion cards are emailed directly from the AHA as an eCard. These cards are an electronic equivalent to the printed AHA course completion cards. eCards are valid course completion cards and can be presented to employers as proof of successful completion of an AHA course.

All  CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation)/AED (Automated External Defibrillator)  courses include hands-on practice with the use of an AED, choking, chest compressions and giving breaths (mouth-to-mouth and with a rescue mask). While practicing chest compressions, students practice on Prestan® Adult and Infant manikins that provide next-level quality feedback using CPR monitors as recommended by the 2015 AHA Guidelines for CPR. The feedback monitor allows students to gauge their own compression rate, depth and correct hand placement while practicing high-quality CPR. Student-manikin ratio: 1 – 1. Certification good 2 years from month of issue.

All First Aid courses teach students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until EMS arrive. Students learn skills on how to manage choking, bleeding injuries, tourniquet use, shock, amputation, exposure to blood and removing gloves, heart attack, stroke and concussion; illnesses such as diabetes, asthma and allergic reaction are discussed and reviewed; tourniquet use is practiced, as well as splinting for sprains and broken bones.  More comprehensive curriculum designed to meet licensing requirements for OSHA is also an option. Certification is good 2 years from month of issue.
